Understanding Percentage Calculations
Whether you are calculating GST, discounts, or projecting future values, percentages are essential. VK-ToolBox provides three distinct ways to calculate:
1. Simple Percentage (% of Number)
Used to find a fraction of a total amount. For example, calculating 18% GST on a ₹10,000 product.
Formula: (Total Value * Percentage) / 100
2. Part of Total (Ratio)
Used to find what percent a number represents of a whole. Useful for exam scores (e.g., 450 marks out of 600).
Formula: (Part Value / Total Value) * 100
3. Proportional Calculation (Unitary Method)
This is a powerful feature for financial projections. It answers questions like: "If ₹500 is 10% of a sum, what is the 100% value?" or "If my current salary is 80% of market rate, what should 100% be?"
Formula: (Current Value / Old %) * New %
